PMO discipline speeds CPG technology and product innovation

Innovation team of confectionary company needed more structure for fluid innovation culture key to their success. Challenges include: providing portfolio visibility to internal and external leaders, clear tracking of innovation and results, and moving new prospects successfully through the sale funnel.

What We Did

  • Karois Consulting instilled PMO discipline with into a team of nine innovation managers managing a portfolio of over forty retail technology and product innovations. Karois created dashboards to show innovation progress and results; restructured weekly department meeting focus on celebrating outcomes, resolving roadblocks and continuous learning.

 

  • Bi-monthly innovation days highlighted technology and product development best practice resulting in increased innovation pipeline activity. Hard to solve business problems submitted by sales and marketing leaders were funneled through a pipeline selection process to bring sales and marketing stakeholders teams into ideation, design thinking, or implementation partnerships.

 

  • Karois mentored managers in project management methodology and best practices for effective execution delivering milestones and results. Innovation managers were trained in project plan development, execution and reporting. Full team participation in issue resolution was encouraged with clear next steps and follow-through.
